Deer in the Fields of Venice: A novel by D.M. Zultowski

Image
Father Maurice Lamoreaux, a devout priest who must make a decision that will affect the rest of his life, is the main character of D.M. Zultowski's book Deer in the Fields of Venice. When Maurice accepts an invitation to join a tour of Rome, Florence, and Venice, the plot then takes an unexpected turn, and it is on this voyage that he learns the true meaning of faith and transformation. In order to determine what in his life is legitimately redemptive, what is misguided, and what is truly liberating, a once-faithful and devout priest is obliged to do a complete self-evaluation. As the narrative progresses, it becomes clear that he is a complicated, multifaceted person who is battling his own inner problems. The inner conflict of a guy divided between his obligations to his faith and his increasing attraction to another person is deftly captured by the author. It is very wonderfully done how Maurice and Cam's friendship develops since it is both sweet and tragic at the same time

The Politician by Devesh Verma

Image
In the newly independent India in Devesh Verma's novel The Politician, Ram Mohan is a daring and aspirational young man. North India is the setting for the book. Ram Mohan had a burning desire to enter politics, by whatever means necessary. The narrative opens with journalist Badri mourning the suicide death of his buddy Deena. He discovers a suicide letter written by Deena that mentions his father, Ram Mohan, in it. The early 1970s setting of the story provides readers with a glimpse into the politics of a newly independent India. The story then goes back to show us how Ram Mohan evolved into the powerful man he is today. Ram Mohan was among the first to become highly educated (he later receives a PhD) and utilises his exceptional oratory skills to win over not just ladies but also the political leaders of the day. He obtains a teaching post among the upper class by using his exceptional diplomatic skills to keep everyone happy, and eventually regains his strength to begin a sig

Secession by Koji Steven Sakai, John Mayer

Image
Secession by Koji Steven Sakai, John Mayer The US government is the focus of John Mayer's book "Secession." The government is of utmost importance since it not only has the most influence on a nation's men and women, but also the most power overall. I firmly think that power corrupts, as is often remarked. It is a terrible situation when a government is unable to meet the requirements of its citizens, but you would want to avoid upsetting your constituting bodies at all costs. You don't want to be standing at the bleak end of the threshold because the governing bodies, parliament, and entire democracies are like a house of cards. The brutal aspects of the civil war that afflicted America at the time were depicted in this novel, which is likely the only one to do so. Something tells me that this book might be claimed to depict the same circumstances in a contemporary environment, and to be honest, that is something to be concerned by. The brutal aspects of the ci

Death's Captive: Will she escape eternal confinement? Scarlett Reed   "Death's Captive: Will she escape eternal confinement?" The tale of a lady who is confined to a London hospital and unable to leave its premises is told by Scarlett Reed. She is unable to ask anybody to see her or touch her, so she is unsure of how long she has been there. Because she can aid patients in transitioning to the afterlife, she is drawn to those who are near to passing away. So, she believes that she is a spirit. But she has absolutely no memory of her life. She just knows that she moves anonymously through a hospital's hallways. She only truly engages in conversation with Niklaus and attempts to put her history together.   It had an engaging plot, which piqued my curiosity in learning how the tale would turn out. We are made to care deeply about these people by the author. Overall, I thought this was a really well-written book. Although I didn't feel the epilogue was n
